Visit of my "old " friend Ute

A couple weeks ago I found my old high school friend Ute on face book (technology seems to make this world so small). And just by chance she happened to come to Chicago for the weekend. We had so much fun catching up the last 11 years. We did a bit of sightseeing in the city and took a boat tour out to the lake. What an awesome day!

Oliver stuck a cheerio up his nose

My son always surprises me. Today during nap time he suddenly started to scream and I ran upstairs. He was totally beside himself. It took me a while to figure out that he had stuck a nap time snack- a cheerio in his nose. Of course he had shoved it way up high. I tried to get it out with a tweezer, but no luck. Andrew said to squirt some saline up and hopefully it will work its way out somehow. I hope he is right.
Well, as of now my son is laying in bed with a cheerio up his cute nose. So much excitement when you have kids.

Tulip festival in Pella, IA

Supergrandma with Dane, Tess, Lillian and Oliver. Grandma always complaints that her lap is not big enough.

Supergrandpa with Bryn, the newest addition to the Paulsen family.

Grandma, Lillian, Oliver, Dane, Auntie Tracy, and Tess

We went to the tulip parade in Pella, IA. The weather was not the greatest. Probably one of the coldest tulip festivals ever. But the parade is really cool. They got some really neat floats. The kids loved it.

Two cuddle bugs. Yes, Oliver still gets a pacifier for his nap. Only for his nap. I assume when it is time to give up the nap(which I am not there yet) he will have to give up the paci at the same time.

Lets get dirty and wet

Oliver's friend Delaney came over yesterday. The kids had so much fun helping me plant flowers and sow seeds. Here is a formula that always works for me.
Lots of water + dirt=three happy, mucky, messy children
